Sophomore
Amanda Carney (Walpole, MA/Walpole) scored a 9.6 on her vault for the highest score of the day in the event leading The College at Brockport Gymnastics team to the team championship at the Brockport Invitational Saturday afternoon at the Tuttle North Gymnastics Facility in Brockport.
Brockport won the event with a season-high score of 188.200 followed by Cortland (184.600), Ithaca (182.825) and Wilson College (30.125).
The Golden Eagles took the top three positions in the vaulting competition with Carney followed by
Lexi King (Glendale, AZ/Mountain Ridge) with a 9.575 and
Haylee Garrick (Myrtle Beach, SC/Carolina Forest) tied for third with a 9.550.
Gabrielle Petitto (Seldon, NY/Newfield) tied for fifth with a 9.525 and senior
Taryn Kateridge (Medford, NY/Patchogue-Medford) was 7th with a 9.50.
Senior
Elizabeth Levy (Glen Allen, VA/Hermitage) was the top Golden Eagle on the uneven bars with a 9.475 and
Casey Addis (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) was next tied for fifth overall with a 9.3 for her routine.
Brockport had three gymnasts tie for second in the balance beam with senior
Kelcie Morris (Hagerstown, MD/Smithsburg),
Samantha Spaid (Green, OH/Green) and Levy all scoring 9.45 in the event.
King was the top scorer for Brockport on floor with a second place finish and a 9.725 score and Kateridge was next in third overall with a 9.70.
Olivia Sylvestro (Palm City, FL/Martin County) finished fifth overall with a 9.625.
Following the meet, seniors Levy, Morris, Kateridge and
Stephanie Pastorelli (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) were honored with this being the final home meet of the season for the defending national champions.
