BROCKPORT, N.Y. – After being named Co-Most Outstanding Wrestler at the 2018 Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference (ECWC) Tournament, Jonathan Haas has been named ECWC Wrestler of the Week. This is the second time this season that Haas has earned wrestler of the week honors, having also won after his first place finish at the New York State Championships.
 
The senior is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation in the 125-lb weight class with a record of 21-0 on the season. He's already won four tournaments this season, and is 3-0 in dual meets. He's looking to improve on last year's finish, where he placed third at NCAA Nationals.
 
This past week, Haas first helped lead Brockport to a dual meet win over Oswego, winning by a 14-4 major decision in route to the Golden Eagles 27-17 victory. He kept things up with a first place finish in the ECWC Tournament, cruising to three wins. After a first round bye, he pinned his first two opponents before squaring off with Oswego's Hunter Howland again in the championship bout, and beating him 13-3.
 
Brockport will honor Haas and the rest of the seniors tomorrow night when they welcome Alfred State for a senior day dual beginning at 7 p.m.
