JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – The College at Brockport wrestling team competed in the Jamestown Open on Sunday, and three wrestlers earned spots on the podium. Zack Brown took first in the 149-lb weight class, while Neiko Scarano brought home second at 125, and Sean O'Hagan earned third at 157.
 
Scarano won his first two bouts of the day by decision, including a second round win against John Chormann of Mercyhurst University. In the championship bout, Scarano fell to Niagara's Matt Genau by fall to settle for second.
 
Brown was dominant on Sunday, as after an opening round bye he won all three of his bouts to take the top spot in the 149-lb weight class. All three of his wins came by decision, including a hard fought 12-10 victory in the championship bout against Joe Slinoski of Gannon University.
 
After losing his first bout of the day to the eventual runner-up of the 157-lb weight class, Sean O'Hagan won his next four matchups to take third place. He pinned an opponent and earned win by medical forfeit before winning his final two bouts of the day by decision.
 
John Cantwell (133), Jordan Kayes (157), and Jerrell White (197) all had good showings at the tournament as well, each finishing in fourth place in their respective weight classes.

The Brockport wrestling team will make the trip to Berea, Ohio next weekend for the annual Baldwin Wallace Tournament.
