The 2004 Brockport baseball team put together arguably the greatest season in Golden Eagle baseball program-history, finishing with a 34-15 overall record, a SUNYAC Championship title, an NCAA Division III Regional title, and an appearance in the NCAA Division III World Series for the first time in program-history.
Brockport won the SUNYAC Tournament, rallying with two straight wins against Cortland in the championship series to win the 2004 conference title and NCAA qualifier. Brockport won the NCAA Regional with a win over Cortland and two straight wins over Ithaca to advance to the Division III World Series in Wisconsin. The Golden Eagles won one game in the College World Series before being eliminated.
The Golden Eagles were led by Head Coach Mark Rowland and assistant coaches Justin Beach, Nathaniel Merritt and Adam Waite. Brockport Hall of Famer Matt Johnson was named the SUNYAC Player of the Year in 2004 and the team featured three SUNYAC All-Conference First Team selections – John Morgan (2B), Matt Johnson (OF), Ben Kimball (P) and three SUNYAC All-Conference second team selections – Joe Lux (C), Jeff Wilson (P), Andy Petersen (DH).
