Played four years of football for the Golden Eagles under Hall-of-Famer Bob Boozer; earned Little All-American status at guard in 1959; was Brockport's last Little All-American until 1988; won three wrestling tournaments in Buffalo and Rochester in 1959-60, before Brockport even had an intercollegiate wrestling team.
Coached South High School to 14 consecutive wrestling championships, a Long Island record, before retiring in 1978 to become athletic director; also coached football; involved in several Nassau County football and wrestling committees.
