Competed in swimming (four years) and golf (four years) at SUNY Brockport; captained the varsity golf team for two years; qualified for the nationals in diving in 1953.
Coached Geneseo to its first SUNYAC Championship in any sport in 1976; coached both the men's and women's teams to championships in both 1990 and 1991 (first time in conference history); SUNYAC Coach of the Year, 1976, 1980, 1987, 1990; coached 23 men's and women's swimming All-Americans; overall dual meet record of 215-140 for the men's team (24 years) and 147-18 for the women (13 years); women's team won 57 consecutive meets (Nov. '89 to Feb. '9 1); hosted NCAA Championships at Geneseo in 1979.
Took third place at Rochester District Golf Association (RDGA) Senior Tournament in 1989; medalist at Southwestern Amateur (1984) and Senior District Tournament (1987).
