Coached swimming at Brockport for 25 years, winning 78% of the team's dual meets and 3 of the first 5 SUNYAC Conference Championships. Developed 9 All-American swimmers. Saw 3 of his swimmers become coaches of Division I teams, 4 of SUNYAC teams; at this time, half of the Monroe County High School swimming coaches are his "graduates".

Served as assistant football coach for 5 years.

Also coached cross-country for 10 years, bettering his swimming record and winning 3 SUNYAC Conference Championships during that period. Developed an All-American runner. Saw many of his team-members become cross-country coaches and many others continue running in road races of various distances up to the marathon.
