Member of varsity basketball team, 1947-50; co-captain during 1949-50 season; Most Valuable Player (1949-50); also a member of varsity track and field team (1948-49); set records in 100 yard dash, shot put, and javelin; undefeated in 100-yard dash in collegiate competition.
Director of Physical Education and Athletics at Ilion Central School (1960-7 2); district-wide Director of Physical Education and Athletics at Utica City Schools (1972-85); coached champions in cross country, track and field, and basketball; established Section III Football Championships; Section III representative to both the NYSPHSAA Central Committee for Athletic Directors and Executive Committee.
As a Rotarian, chaired a committee which honored outstanding educators in seven school districts; president of Herkimer County Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) and Board of Education; president of the Greater Utica Sports Hall of Fame Committee; first vice-president of the Oneida Madison-Herkimer Counties Board of Education.
