Was a member of the volleyball and track and field teams while studying at Brockport; served as a faculty assistant as a senior.
Extremely successful coach of women's basketball and softball at Allegheny (PA) College, 1980-86; coached teams to seven consecutive NCAA Tournaments in the two sports; finished fifth in the nation in softball on two occasions (1983, 1985); basketball coaching record of 104-33, including 71-9 in final three seasons; softball coaching record of 135-40, including winning streaks of 20 and 23 games; named Coach of the Year in the North Coast Athletic Conference (basketball), Women's Keystone Conference (basketball), and the NCAA MidEast Region (softball).
Selected as a member of the 1985 FIBA Junior World Championships coaching staff; selected as a member of the East coaching staff for the 1982 National Sports Festival; served on several NCAA committees for both basketball and softball; has published articles for Athletic Journal on two occasions.
Member of the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame (1982); coached at the high school level prior to 1980, compiling a 94-10 record and four Section IV Championships.
As athletic director and supervisor of physical education and health for the Jamestown Public Schools, directs and oversees 26 full-time teachers and 74 coaching positions.
