SUNY College at Brockport '75 - Major: Economics
Four-year starter in basketball (1971-75); started as a freshman (first year under NCAA that freshmen were allowed to play varsity); team was 87-23 in four years, making him the "winningest" player in school history; only one to play on two "Final Four" teams (1972-73 and 1974-75); 1973-74 team won ECAC title and he was team and ECAC MVP; MVP and All-SUNYAC as a senior; two-year captain; third all-time in scoring (1,531), second in assists (405), third in steals (201), tied for first in free throws made (319), second in free throws attempted (454), fourth in field goals made (606) and attempted (1,217), and first in games played (109); third in assists in a season (175, 1972-73) and eighth in field goals made in a season (210, 1974-75); father, Mauro '52, and brother, Dan '77, also are in the Hall of Fame. High school basketball All-American at Deerfield Academy; toured France with the Golden Eagles in the summer of 1975, playing French professional and club teams; played one year for the Rochester Zeniths of the Continental Basketball Association, earning a spot on the All-Star team and winning a league title. Currently owns Direct Mail Express Inc., the premier direct response marketing company in Central Florida, employing more than 600 people in Daytona Beach and Tampa.
