Martha brings extensive experience in the realm of swimming to the SUNY Brockport coaching staff. She became a member of the staff in the fall of 2018, transitioning from her athlete role as a Golden Eagle from 2016-2018.

Prior to starting at Brockport, Martha was a member of the Resident Team at the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center. She attended the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games and has attended numerous World Championships and other international competitions. With her extensive international competition experience, she brings insight and offers a diverse perspective on and off the pool deck. She has worked with various coaches and teams of different skill levels, that allow her to understand athletes at varying stages.

Graduating from SUNY Brockport in 2018, Ruether was a freestyle sprinter and breaststroker for the Golden Eagles. She is a multiple-time Academic All-American with her degree in Psychology.

Externally, Martha continues to train in the Paralympic realm, and is currently working towards representing Team USA once more at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
