Junior pole vaulter Zach Ferrara (Rochester, NY/Irondequoit) of the men’s track and field team has been named The College at Brockport Male Athlete of the Week.

Competing at the Lake Erie College Open, Ferrara came in first place after putting up a career-best height and new school record of 15 ft. 11 inches (4.85-meters). Ferrara’s previous high was 15 ft. nine inches last season at the Robert Kane Invitational. Last weekend, at the St. Lawrence Invitational, Ferrara also came in first place in the event with a height of 4.55-meters, an ECAC qualifying time.

Ferrara and the Golden Eagles return to action on Feb. 4 as they travel to the Hamilton Invitational.
