Open Swim Information
Fall 2026 Pool Operations
While the pool will temporarily close during the initial phase of the Tuttle North Renovation project, the following adjustments have been planned to minimize academic and athletic disruption:
- There will be no open swim opportunities during the renovation period.
- We will not host outside aquatics groups or rentals due to the unavailability of general-use locker rooms.
- The pool will reopen for academic classes at the start of the Fall 2026 semester.
- Varsity swimming and diving practices will continue as normal in the fall.
James B. Fulton Natatorium
The James B. Fulton Natatorium is the home of the Golden Eagles swim and dive program. The facility was named after Jim Fulton, who taught and coached at Brockport for 38 years (1948-85) and was a 1986 Golden Eagle Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee. During his time at the school he coached swimming for 20 years, winning 78 percent of the team's dual meets and three of the first five SUNYAC Championships. He also helped develop all nine of the College's swimming All-Americans. The SUNYAC Outstanding Senior Male Scholar-Athlete honoree is named the "Jim Fulton Award" recipient. Fulton served as an assistant football coach for five years and coached cross-country for 10 years, winning three SUNYAC Championships.
This facility remains the official home pool for the Golden Eagles swim and dive program for sanctioned NCAA competitions. Brockport also utilizes this facility for open recreational swim, day swim sessions for children from local schools, a variety of swim meets, and team workouts for the 23 varsity sports programs on campus. See below for information on hours/registration for open swim.
