Three weeks into the 2010-11 swimming and diving season, senior Maria Quagliana (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) has exceeded the NCAA’s Division III Championship qualifying standard on the one-meter dive three times. During the home-opener against Wells College on Saturday, Quagliana captured the one-meter event for the third consecutive week, and for the second consecutive week, Quagliana has earned The College at Brockport’s Female Athlete of the Week honors.
Quagliana won the one-meter against Wells with a score of 265.35 to clear the qualifying mark for the third straight meet. She also won the three-meter with a score of 268.05 to surpass the qualifying standard in that event, as well. Quagliana has captured the three-meter event in each of Brockport’s four meets, and has claimed the one-meter title three times.
Behind the strong performances from Quagliana, the Golden Eagles breezed past Wells College 166-60 inside the James B. Fulton Natatorium in Brockport.
