Junior Eliah Golding (Albany, NY/Colonie) of the men’s wrestling team has been named The College at Brockport Male Athlete of the Week following his first place finish at the John Summa Tournament at Baldwin-Wallace College.
Golding pinned his way to the championship in the 141 pound division. The junior pinned his first opponent Josh Tropp from Washington and Jefferson in 1:05. In the next round, Golding earned the victory by a pin again, this time coming against Trey Weliver of the University of Indianapolis in 1:09.
In the championship match against Kevin Brunner from Lake Erie College, Golding claimed a pin in 1:43. As a team, the Golden Eagles came in first place at the meet with a total of 204 points.
Earlier in the week, Golding claimed a pin in a dual meet against RIT. Golding's pin came at 1:25 into the match. Golding's pin scored six points for the Golden Eagles as Brockport went on to defeat the Tigers, 32-12.
