After leading the Golden Eagles in most attacking categories, Hannalee Fordyce (Amityville, NY/Copiague) of the volleyball team has been named The College at Brockport Female Athlete of the Week. Fordyce played in five matches over the week, including four at the Houghton Invitational where the junior was named to the All-Tournament team.
In a mid-week match against St. John Fisher, Fordyce led the Golden Eagles with 14 kills. The first-year member of the team finished with a .417 hitting percentage while collecting six digs and one solo block in four matches.
Fordyce put up strong numbers at the Houghton tournament. In a 3-0 win over Alfred in the first match on Friday, Fordyce had seven kills and nine digs. In the nightcap, the junior posted a team season-high 24 digs while adding 10 kills and two service aces in a 3-1 loss to St. Lawrence.
On day two of the invitational, Fordyce had six kills for a .500 hitting percentage while serving up eight aces as Brockport dropped Maine-Presque Isle 3-0. Fordyce finished off the tournament with a team-high 12 kills against Houghton while coming up with seven digs and four block assists.
In the five matches, Fordyce led the Golden Eagles with 49 kills in 109 attempts. Her 47 digs also led the way while she finished second on the team with 10 aces.
