Freshman forward Bobby Ross (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) knew it was only a matter of time before he’d have his first multiple goal-scoring performance for The College at Brockport’s Men’s Soccer Team.
Facing rival SUNY Geneseo, Ross scored the Golden Eagles’ first two goals, including the winner in the 71st minute, as Brockport defeated Geneseo 3-1 Saturday afternoon at Brockport. Ross was named The College at Brockport’s Male Athlete of the Week honors.
Ross staked the Golden Eagles (8-1-2 overall, 4-1 SUNYAC) to a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute, collecting a loose ball off a corner kick and burying the shot. After Geneseo tied the game in the second half, Ross was at it again, scoring on a six-yard volley for his second goal of the game, and fourth of the year. Brockport is ranked 25th in the national D3soccer.com online poll and is currently tied for second in the SUNYAC standings.
