Phoebe Byrnes (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) of the women’s basketball team has been named The College at Brockport Female Athlete of the Week after leading the Golden Eagles to victory on Saturday afternoon.

Byrnes hit three three-point shots in the closing minutes to help Brockport defeat Potsdam 62-57 on the road Saturday. Byrnes finished the game with 26 points, her fifth career 20-point game and fourth of the season. The sophomore hit 10-20 shots from the floor against the Bears, including 5-12 from three-point range. Byrnes also grabbed three rebounds and two steals on the day.

With Brockport trailing 57-55 with under two minutes to play, Byrnes sank her second straight three to give Brockport the lead. The sophomore connected from deep just over a minute later to put the game out of reach. Byrnes ranks sixth in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) with 33 three-point shots on the year and is shooting 40 percent from beyond the arc.

The Golden Eagles will wrap up the regular season with a pair of conference games. Brockport will travel to Buffalo State for a 6:00 pm matchup on Friday and will host Fredonia on Saturday at 6:00 pm.
