Senior Katie Gildemeyer (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) has been named The College at Brockport Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending on September 29.
Gildemeyer paced the Golden Eagles offense this week, helping Brockport finish 1-0-1 against some tough SUNYAC competition.
On Friday, the Golden Eagles played their first SUNYAC game of the season. On the road against Fredonia, Brockport finished with a 1-1 tie. Gildemeyer chipped the ball over the goalkeepers head from outside the box late in the second half to help keep the Golden Eagles from recording a loss.
On the road again on Saturday, the Golden Eagles took on Buffalo State. After a scoreless first half, filled with some big saves, Gildemeyer was able to score the game-winner early in the second half. Her fifth goal of the season came after a scramble in front of the net.
Gildemeyer is tied for first on the team in scoring with 11 point and has a team-high five goals. She has also tallied two game-winning goals so far this season.
The Golden Eagles return to action at 4:00 pm on Friday at A. Huntley Parker Jr. Field for a SUNYAC matchup against New Paltz.Â
