Senior Joe Marino (Rochester, NY/McQuaid) etched his name into the Golden Eagles’ record books, posting a pair of shutouts to become the first Brockport goalie with seven consecutive shutouts. The record-setting goalie earned The College at Brockport’s Male Athlete of the Week honors.
Marino made three saves to blank SUNY Potsdam 3-0 Saturday afternoon to set the school record. Marino, who tied Roy Riley’s school record of six straight shutouts in Friday's 3-0 blanking of rival SUNY Plattsburgh, extended his scoreless streak to 680 minutes.
Since allowing a goal in the 72nd minute of a season-opening 4-2 win over Cazenovia College, Marino has been perfect for Brockport (6-0-2 overall, 2-0 SUNYAC), stopping the last 34 shots.
