Junior softball center fielder Brianna Ferchen (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) has been chosen as The College at Brockport Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending on May 4.

Ferchen’s strong performance during the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Tournament earned her All-Tournament Team honors.

Ferchen’s hitting helped the Golden Eagles open up the tournament 2-0 with wins over Geneseo and Cortland. In both games, she went 3-for-4 at the plate. Against Cortland on Friday, she scored two runs and tallied an RBI.

For the week, Ferchen was 8-for-15 from the plate with four runs scored and two RBI’s.

Ferchen finishes her junior season first on the team in stolen bases with 18, just shy of the Brockport single season record, which she currently holds. She also finishes second on the team in scored runs and has the third highest batting average.
