Junior Taylor Schaffert (Lockport, NY/Lockport) has been named The College at Brockport Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 17. Schaffert propelled Brockport’s Swimming and Diving women to victory over Potsdam this past weekend in the Golden Eagle’s home opener.

Schaffert swam exceptionally well, winning three individual events. Schaffert placed first in the 100-yard backstroke, 50-yard freestyle and the 200-yard backstroke.

In the 100-yard backstroke she finished nearly five seconds faster than the nearest competitor with a time of 1:02.51 and in the 200-yard backstroke she almost finished 30 seconds prior to the nearest Bear.

Schaffert finished almost a second ahead of her teammate in the 50-yard freestyle and more than three seconds ahead of Potsdam’s top swimmer.
