Sophomore Taryn Kateridge (Medford, NY/Patchogue-Medford) recorded a personal-best score on both the vault and the floor exercise as The College at Brockport’s gymnastics team defeated a Division I school for the first time in school history during Saturday’s quad meet at Ithaca College. Kateridge was honored as Brockport’s Female Athlete of the Week.

Kateridge finished second on the vault with a score of 9.575 points, besting her previous high of 9.45 points during the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) National Championship meet her freshman year. Kateridge’s strong effort helped Brockport win the vault competition.

On the floor exercise, Kateridge easily surpassed her previous personal best score at Ithaca. She scored 9.625 points to tie for third on the floor exercise.

Brockport placed second at the meet, beating DI power Yale University while falling just shy of host Ithaca for first-place.
