Junior Lily Jagodzinski (Tonawanda, NY/Williamsville North) has been named The College at Brockport Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 2. Jagodzinski had two strong performances for the Brockport Gymnastics team as the Golden Eagles had back-to-back meets Saturday and Sunday, competing against Division I teams Saturday at Penn State before traveling back home Sunday for the Brockport Invitational.

Jagodzinski showcased multiple talents throughout the weekend as she helped the Golden Eagles top a team score of 190 points twice, including a new school record of 192.225 on Sunday.

Brockport was dominant this Sunday posting three wins against Cortland, Ithaca and Rhode Island College. Jagodzinski played a major role in the victories, scoring 9.7 on the balance beam and 9.725 on the floor. The floor exercise was the last event for Brockport and Jagodzinski led the team in points for the event.

In the meet against Division I opponents, Brockport showed that it can compete with the top collegiate gymnastic talent in the country. Jagodzinski scored a 9.75 on the floor and a 9.7 on the balance beam. Brockport totaled 190.700 points during the meet at Penn State that also hosted Iowa State and University at Pennsylvania.

Gymnastics next scheduled event is more than a week away as the team will travel to Ursinus for the NCAA East Regional Qualifier on March 14 at 1 pm.
