Sophomore Jake Giudice (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) has been named The College at Brockport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 6. Giudice was a major factor in the Golden Eagles perfect 2-0 record on the week and he led Brockport to a big State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victory over Oneonta on Saturday.

Giudice seemed to will the Green and Gold past the Red Dragons on Saturday in a toughly fought defensive battle. Giudice powered through the Oneonta defense on several occasions, fighting his way through double teams to beat the Red Dragons goalie, who for the majority of the game seemed to have the Golden Eagles number. Giudice scored the game-winner less than a minute into the fourth quarter when a Golden Eagle teammate swung a pass from the wing to Giudice in front of the net who quickly converted for a 6-3 Brockport lead. Oneonta scored next, but Giudice responded shortly after wrapping around the net and firing the ball past the Red Dragon defense giving Brockport a three goal cushion. The Green and Gold won 8-5.

Brockport nearly shut out Alfred State on Wednesday cruising to a 15-1 win, with Giudice scoring two goals and adding an assist in the dominating nonconference victory. The Golden Eagles outshot Alfred 42-13 during the contest.
