Junior Cameron Shaughnessy (Cicero, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) has been named The College at Brockport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 13. Shaughnessy cruised to a first place finish in pole vault for the Men’s Track and Field team at the Coach P Invitational at Moravian College in Pennsylvania.

Shaughnessy perfectly executed each run up to his winning height of 4.70-meters, which was a season best for the junior. His 4.70-meters were one-third of a meter higher than the nearest competitor.

Following the winning performance at the Coach P Invitational on Saturday, Shaughnessy was the lead runner for the Golden Eagles 4x100 relay team during the Bison Outdoor Classic on Sunday. He helped the group of four Golden Eagles to a fourth place finish out of 18 different groups including three Division I opponents that finished ahead of the Brockport squad by less than one second. Shaughnessy teamed with Dorian Hayden, Kevin Jones and Zachary Brown to finish the 400-meters in 42.20 seconds.

Outdoor Track and Field travels to Cortland this weekend for the Cortland Classic competing Friday at 4 pm and Saturday at 10 am.
