Junior Gerald Williams (Rochester, NY/Charlotte) had quite the weekend for The College at Brockport’s men’s basketball team. Williams averaged 25.3 points per game and made 14 of his 20 three-pointers as Brockport went 3-0 to earn Brockport’s Male Athlete of the Week honors.

Williams, a guard, scored a career-high 30 points on 9 of 12 shooting, including making 5 of his 6 three-pointers during Friday night’s 93-77 win over Plattsburgh. Facing Potsdam Saturday afternoon, the Golden Eagles jumped out to a 19-0 lead after Williams scored seven of his game-high 26 points during the run. Williams made 7 of his 14 shots, including going 4 for 7 from three-point land, and has connected on 70 percent of his ‘3s’ over the last three games.

For the week, Williams connected on 60 percent of his shots from the field (22 of 37). Williams has scored 20-plus points in eight of Brockport’s last 10 games as the Golden Eagles (11-9 overall, 9-4 State University of New York Athletic Conference) moved into sole possession of third place in the SUNYAC standings.
