Marisa Gosdeck opened her 2016 Outdoor Track and Field campaign with a first place finish in the heptathlon at the 38th Annual Messiah College Track and Field Invitational. 

After day one of competition, Gosdeck was in first place with a one point lead after tying for first in the high jump with a height of 1.53-meters.  The sophomore also took first in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.73 seconds and first in the 200-meter run with a time of 27.95 seconds.
 
Gosdeck tabbed two second place finishes during the second day of competition.  A distance of 4.99-meters in the long jump and a time of 2:39.86 seconds in the 800 meter run capped off the 3892 points and first place finish for the Alden, N.Y. native.
 
The Golden Eagles will return to action on Monday at the Roc City Classic hosted by Nazareth College at 2 p.m.
