Candis Kowalik defended her National Champion title on Sunday, winning the 2017 Beam Individual National Champion honor. The sophomore scored a 9.600 to take the event, and also earn First-Team All-American honors. The Warwick, R.I. native also picked up Second-Team All-American honors on the floor and vault, where she finished seventh and eighth respectively. Kowalik also shone bright in the team competition, where Brockport finished in third overall. She placed fourth on the floor, 25th on the vault, and seventh on the beam.
