Cala was instrumental in Brockort's 3-2 week which included a series win over the weekend against Cortland. The senior went 8-for-22 from the plate (.364), and crossed the plate six times. He's now scored 21 runs on the season, which is tied for third in the conference. He also drove in four runs during the week, including two in Saturday afternoons 5-4 win. In Sunday's series finale, he went 3-for-6 from the plate and accounted for three of Brockports eight runs in the 8-7 victory. The Derby, N.Y. native was perfect in the field, making 13 putouts and adding an assist when he threw out a runner trying to score from center field.Â
