Junior Desiree Fauvelle (Newport, NY/West Canada Valley) combined to score 24 points and shot 53 percent from the field during The College at Brockport’s two women’s basketball games over the weekend. Fauvelle, a guard, was named Brockport’s Female Athlete of the Week.

Fauvell scored 11 points on 3 of 6 shooting, including hitting 2 of 5 three-pointers, and added five rebounds and two blocks during a loss to Geneseo on Tuesday night.

Facing host New Jersey City University Saturday afternoon, Fauvelle keyed a critical 14-0 second-half run as the Golden Eagles ran past New Jersey City 62-38. Fauvelle finished with 13 points on 5 of 9 shooting, including going 2 for 4 on 3-pointers, as Brockport picked up its second win of the year.

Fauvelle and teammate Liz Unger (Hamilton, NY/Hamilton) combined to score 10 Brockport points during the pivotal run that sealed the Golden Eagles’ win.
