Brockport, NY -- The College at Brockport football team's starting running back Jala Coad has been named The Mall at Greece Ridge Male Athlete of the Week for his performance over the weekend. Coad helped lead the Golden Eagles to a comeback victory on the road against #18 Cortland on Saturday.
He carried the ball 39 times for a career-high 210 yards and he also added two rushing scores. Both of his touchdowns on the ground came in the fourth quarter, as the team trailed 23-7 at halftime. He also eclipsed 1,000 yards for his career Saturday and now has 1,149 career rushing yards. He leads the league with 12 rushing touchdowns this season.
Brockport improves to 7-1 on the season and 4-0 in the Empire 8, while extending its winning streak to seven games. The Golden Eagles have a chance to clinch another conference title against Alfred at home on Saturday, November 9th.
