Senior linebacker Alex West has been named this week’s Athlete of the Week.  

The Golden Eagles recent matchup was with Alfred University, they won 16-7. With this win they received the Third Straight Empire 8 Conference Title.  

West was also named an All-American Candidate. He had a total of nine sacks with two QB hurries. Now with a total of 25 career sacks, West needs one more to tie with the program-record of 26 sacks that happened back in 2002.  

They have one more game left in the regular season, where they will be traveling to go head to head with Morrisville State on November 16th at noon. They have automatically earned the conference bid into the NCAA Division III Championship. The Golden Eagles will wait to hear of the qualifying teams that will take place on Sunday, November 17th.
