Freshman Tyrone Nichols (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) busted off touchdown runs of 55 and 58 yards in a 56-14 win for The College at Brockport football team over Western Connecticut State, with both long runs coming in the first half.

The Golden Eagles captured their second straight win on the legs of Nichols, who set a freshman record for rushing yards in a game with 187 on just 11 carries.

For his efforts, Nichols has been named the Brockport Male Athlete of the Week.

Nichols only played three quarters because his 17 yards per carry gave Brockport a 50-14 lead entering the final stanza. The freshman running back also caught two balls for seven yards.

Nichols led the team in all-purpose yards with 194.
