Chris O'Connell (Holbrook, NY/Sachem North) won three events each to lead The College at Brockport Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams to a sweep of Monroe Community College Saturday afternoon in Brockport.
The Brockport men won by a score of 168-111 and the women were victorious by a 173-125 score.
Luke won the 100-yard backstroke and the 200-yard backstroke events and teamed with
Paige Whitney (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford),
Amy Jessmer (Albion, NY/Albion) and Coia to win the 200-yard freestyle relay. Coia added wins in the 100-yard butterfly and was a member of the winning 200-yard medley relay swimming with Jessmer,
Melanie Melewski (New Baltimore, NY/R-C-S) and Whitney for the win.
Burns won the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke along with a winning share of the 200-yard medley relay with O'Connell,
Kenny Smith (Rochester, NY/Eastridge) and
Joe Klafehn (Hilton, NY/Hilton) for the victory. O'Connell added a pair of individual wins in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events.
Other top finishers for the Brockport men included Nate Dubois (Mendon, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) in the 100-yard freestyle and
Marc Toth (Lockport, NY/Starpoint) who won the 400-yard individual medley.
For the Brockport women,
Sarah Eisenmenger (North Rose, NY/North Rose-Wolcott) won the 200-yard freestyle, Melewski won the 100-yard breaststroke,
Alanna Blasting (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore Wets) was the top finisher in the 200-yard breaststroke and
Mackenzie Wilcox (Ballston Spa, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) won the 400-yard individual medley.
