Golden Eagles Improve to 5-0 in Duals

Brockport defeated Oswego 30-9 to stay perfect this season

RESULTS

Junior Clay Neivert (Ossining, NY/Ossining) scored six points for The College at Brockport Wrestling team Wednesday night against Oswego. The Golden Eagles won the dual meet 30-9 and improved their overall record to 5-0.

Neivert was the only Golden Eagle to register a pin, taking down Scott Bova in 4:54 at the 174 lb. weight class. Asher Kramer (Sloatsburg, NY/Suffern) scored a technical fall against Kevin Ramkishun in the opening match at 125 lbs. Kramer won the match 21-6 in 3:53 and scored five points for Brockport.

Following Kramer, the Golden Eagles rattled off three consecutive wins by decision. Rocco Rosso (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) took the 133 lb. weight class 5-0. Eliah Golding (Albany, NY/Colonie) defeated Bradley Mayville 5-1 at 141 lbs. and Robert Troy (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) won 9-3 at the 149 lb. weight class.

Following an Oswego victory due to a medical forfeit at the 157 lb. division, Brockport won four of the final five matches to take the dual. David Kellogg (Adams, NY/South Jefferson) won the 165 lb. weight class by a 4-2 decision, followed by Neivert's pin. Junior Paul Glover (Rochester, NY/Spencerport) took the 197 lb. match by a major decision, winning 15-6 and John Wilkinson (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) closed out the dual with a 4-1 decision over Kyle Sheridan.

Dating back to last season, Brockport has now won seven consecutive dual matches including the team's three victories and first place finish at the Virginia Duals earlier this season on Jan. 13-14. Brockport's next dual meet is Feb. 1, their first home dual of the season, against RIT.
