Senior Eva Lankes (Liverpool, NY/Amherst) led The College at Brockport Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving teams with three second place finishes and one third place finish Saturday in the 2012-13 season opener at Ithaca College.

The Bombers won both the men's and women's team competitions by scores of 200-92 in the women's events and 208-67 in the men's events.

Lankes was second in the 50-yard freestyle and took third in the 100-yard backstroke. In the backstroke race, Lankes finished less than a second behind teammate freshman Taylor Schaffert (Lockport, NY/Lockport) as the top three finishers in the race touched the wall in a span of 1.22 seconds for a close finish. Schaffert was also third in the 200-yard freestyle.

Schaffert and Lankes were part of the second place 200-yard freestyle relay for Brockport teaming with Erin Luke (Latham, NY/Shaker) and Amy Jessmer (Albion, NY/Albion).  Lankes and Jessmer were two of the four Golden Eagles that placed second in the 200-yard medley relay. The rest of the relay featured Rachel Coia (Rochester, NY/Spencerport) and Alanna Blasting (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West).

Luke took second in the 50-yard freestyle while Bethany Schroeder (Auburn, NY/Auburn) was third in the event. Coia was third in the 50-yard butterfly while Jennifer Conklin (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford-Sutherland) was third in both the 500 and 1,000-yard freestyle races. Melanie Melewski (New Baltimore, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) was also a double place finisher with second place finishes in both the 50 and 100-yard breaststroke events.

For the Brockport men, Nathan Dubois (Mendon, N Y/Honeoye Falls-Lima) was third in the 200-yard freestyle and swam the lead off leg of the second place 200-yard freestyle relay for the Golden Eagles. In the relay, he teamed with Joe Klafehn (Hilton, NY/Hilton), Dustin Wurster (Buffalo, NY/West Seneca West) and Chris Heckman (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa).
