Jennifer Conklin (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford-Sutherland) took three first-place finishes for The College at Brockport Women's Swimming and Diving team, but the Golden Eagles fell to Nazareth 135-105 on Friday night. The Brockport men were led by
Nathan Dubois (Mendon, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) and
Kenny Smith (Rochester, NY/Eastridge), but Nazareth upended the Golden Eagles 134-93.
Conklin took the top overall spot in her first event of the night, the 800-meter freestyle. The junior came in with a time of 9:57.57, almost 10 full seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Conklin also finished first in the 200-meter fly with a time of 2:39.49 and the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 4:49.92, beating the second-place finisher by less than half of a second.
Stasi Ozminkowski (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) posted a strong performance on the diving board for the Golden Eagles. The sophomore finished first in the open 1-meter dive, recording a score of 172.70 while fellow diver
Audrey Jackson (Oswego, NY/Oswego) came in third with a score of 157.35.
Ozminkowski came in second in the 3-meter dives with a score of 187.50. Jackson came in third at 170.40
Senior
Eva Lankes (Liverpool, NY/Amherst) and freshman
Taylor Schaffert (Lockport, NY/Lockport) took the top two spots in the 200-meter backstroke, with Lankes posting a time of 2:34.02, .27 seconds ahead of Schaffert.
Erin Luke (Latham, NY/Shaker) posted a second-place finish in the 100-meter freestyle and
Alanna Blasting (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West) came in second in the 200-meter individual medley.
On the men's side, Dubois finished first in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 56.54 and finished second in the 200-meter freestyle. Dubois was part of the 200-meter freestyle relay. Dubois, Christopher Heckman (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa),
Joe Klafehn (Hilton, NY/Hilton) and
Dustin Wurster (Buffalo, NY/West Seneca West) came in with a time of 1:42.31. Klafehn also posted a second-place individual finish in the 50-meter freestyle.
Smith recorded a first-place finish in the 200-meter fly with a time of 2:22.52, more than five full seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
Jacob Ammons (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) registered two second-place finishes coming in the 800-meter and 400-meter freestyle.
Both teams will be back in action on Saturday afternoon for the team's home opener against Wells. The meet is set to begin at 1:00 pm at the James B. Fulton Natatorium.
