Four Players Score in 4-1 Win over Nazareth

Golden Eagles scored four unanswered goals in second half comeback

Sophomore Peter DiLorenzo (Hicksville, NY/Hicksville) scored a goal and added an assist leading The College at Brockport Men's Soccer team to a 4-1 victory over Nazareth College Saturday afternoon in the second day of competition at the Doug May Classic Tournament at Nazareth College.

Brockport (2-0) fell behind when Nazareth (1-1) scored with less than three minutes left in the first half but with 10 seconds remaining before the halftime intermission Matthew Roorda (Rochester, NY/Aquinas) scored off a corner kick tying the game for the Golden Eagles.

In the second half, Brockport scored twice in a span of three minutes midway through the period to take a 3-1 lead. Senior Bobby Ross (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) notched his third goal of the season and then less than three minutes later, DiLorenzo set up junior Paul Altobelli (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) for the third Golden Eagle goal of the game.

With 5:20 remaining in the contest, DiLorenzo took a pass from freshman Cody Zavaglia (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) and scored an insurance goal giving Brockport a 4-1 lead.

The shots were nearly equal with Brockport firing 14 shots and Nazareth taking 13 but the Golden Eagles held a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks including a 4-1 edge in the second half.

Casey Sullivan (East Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse-Minoa) made five saves to pick up his second win of the season.
