ITHACA, N.Y. – The College at Brockport men's and women's swimming and diving teams kicked of the 2015-2016 season on Saturday at Ithaca College.
The men's team fell by a count of 229-62, while the women's squad lost by a margin of 229-65.
There were several bright performances for the Golden Eagles, including a first collegiate swim win for
Liam Henry, who took the 50 fly race with a time of 24.76. On the women's side,
Mary Jane Leja picked up a win in the 50 free, touching in a time of 25.77.
In the 100 individual medley, two Golden-Eagles set school records in Ameera Bahnji and Matt O'Donnell. Bahnji swam a time of 1:11.28 in the event for fifth, while O'Donnell posted a 1:02.08 swim in the same event, also to take fifth place.
On the boards, Megan Kilagallon took first in the one-meter dive with a score of 224.60 and placed second in the three-meter event, with a score of 227.55.
