BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport men's and women's swimming and diving team were back in action on Saturday, kicking off the second half of their season against Oneonta.
The women's team just missed, falling by a score of 145-125, while the men's team fell by a count of 157-101.
On the women's side,
Mary Jane Leja took first for the Golden Eagles in the 200 freestyle, touching in a time of 2:02.37. In the 100 breaststroke and the 50 freestyle, Brockport went one-two. In the 100 breast,
Amanda Falsey placed first with a 1:18.91 swim and
Erin Conley took second with a 1:19 flat. In the 50 free, Leja found herself a top the leaderboard again, with a swim of 25.11, with
Jenna Gleason placing second with a 26.32. Falsey also took first in the 200 breast, toughting in a time of 2:53.68.
On the boards, the Golden Eagles swept the first and second place, with
Meghann Kilgallon taking first in the three-meter event with a score of 271.85. Kathryn Nau took second in the same event, scoring a 224.50. In the one-meter dive, Killgallon and Nau went one-two again. Killgallon took first with a score of 274.70, while Nau took second with a 215.75.
On the men's side, Henry Liam took first in the 50 freestyle, swimming a time of 22.65. The men had a strong showing on the boards, sweeping both the three-meter and one-meter diving events. In the three-meter,
Gabriel Arias took first, scoring a 311.80. Matt Merchant placed second with a 261.25 while Zealand Miller finished in third with a score of 183.85. On the one-meter dive, Arias, Merchant and Miller went one, two three again, with Arias 263.80 the top mark.
