ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The College at Brockport men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed on Wednesday in a dual meet at Monroe Community College.
The women's team fell by a score of 126.5-80.5 while the men's team fell by a count of 135-94.
For the men, the Golden Eagle diving unit had a strong meet, sweeping the top three spots in both the three meter and one meter events. In both the one and three meter,
Gabriel Arias took first with scores of 283.85 and 282.25 respectively. Matt Merchant took second in both events with scores of 212.95 in the one-meter and a score of 239.10 in the three meter. Zealand Miller rounded out the top three with scores of 194.25 and 205.95.
In the pool,
Liam Henry took first in the 50-yard freestyle, touching in a time of 23.17.
For the women, the Golden Eagles also had a strong showing on the boards. In the one-meter event,
Meghann Kilgallon took first with a score of 245.65. Kathryn Nau took second in the same event with a score of 203.95, and tied for first in the three-meter with a score of 216.40.
Mary Jane Leja took two firsts in the pool for Brockport, touching in a time of 25.52 in the 50-yard freestyle and swimming a 56.82 in the 100-yard free. The Golden Eagle 400-yard medley relay team also took first, comprised of
Jenna Gleason,
Erin Conley,
Holly Jackson and
Amanda Falsey, swimming a time of 4:37.26.
