ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The College at Brockport men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed against Nazareth College Saturday afternoon, with the men falling 166-130, and the women dropping 164-124.
Matthew O'Donnell,
Chase Carson, Kyle Kelley and
Liam Henry tabbed a second place finish in the 200-meter medley relay, finishing in 1:57.54. Henry also finished first in the 50-meter freestyle, touching in 25.61, and first in the 100-meter freestyle in 56.95.
In the 100-meter backstroke, Kelley took second in a time of 1:08.51.
Austin Moyer earned three top three finishes on the day. The junior took first in the 200-meter butterfly with a time of 2:19.69, first in the 100-meter butterfly in 1:00.98 and third in the 200-meter freestyle in 2:05.57.
The Golden Eagles claimed two of the top three spots in the men's 100-meter breaststroke. Carson took second with a time of 1:14.96, while
Reese Michaels finished third in 1:16.32.
Brockport swept the podium in both the men's one-meter dive and three-meter dive. In the one-meter, Matt Merchant finished first with 253.70, Gabe Arias second with 230.95, and
Chris Miller in third with 213.25. Merchant took first in the three-meter with 241.70, Arias second with 236.10, and Miller third with 190.45.
In the women's 200-meter medley relay,
Dee Logory,
Martha Ruether,
Holly Jackson and
Jenna Gleason teamed up for a second place finish with a time of 2:09.54, narrowly missing first by 0.16 seconds.
Ruether, Gleason,
Mary Jane Leja, and
Kaitlin Dunning teamed up for a first place finish in the 400-meter freestyle relay in 4:15.89, beating the second place team by more than seven seconds.
Brockport took two of the top three spots in the women's 100-meter backstroke behind Logory and Jackson. Logory took first in 1:12.17 while Jackson finished third in 1:15.38.
In the 400-meter freestyle,
Kaitlin Dunning took first, touching in 4:52.97. Dunning also earned a second place finish with a time of 10:10.77 in the 800-meter freestyle.
Mary Jane Leja finished first in the 200-meter freestyle, touching in 2:17.62, four seconds ahead of the next swimmer. Leja would also take first in the 50-meter freestyle (27.59) and 100-meter freestyle (1:02.34).
In the 200-meter backstroke, Logory tabbed a second place finish with a time of 2:37.20, just 0.20 behind first.
Meghann Kilgallon took first in the one-meter dive with a score of 263.00.
Loren Sayers and
Kate Nau finished third and fourth with respective scores of 214.00 and 192.40. In the three-meter dive, Kilgallon took finished in second place with 238.15, Sayers in third with 207.60, and
Brooke Leddon third with 175.00.
The Golden Eagles will host Monroe Community College on Nov. 5 in its home opener with a 1 pm start time.
