Men's Swimming and Diving

Swimming and Diving Sweeps Potsdam in SUNYAC Opener

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport men's and women's swimming and diving teams swept SUNY Potsdam in their first State University of New York Athletic Conference meet of the season.  The men won by a tally of 195 to 101 while the women won 193 to 82.

In the men's 1,000-yard freestyle, Chase Carson finished in first, touching in 11:34.65.

Liam Henry won the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in 1:54.64.

Brockport took first and second in the 100-yard backstroke behind Matthew O'Donnell and Kyle Kelley.  O'Donnell took first with 58.38 seconds, while Kelley finished second with 1:00.73.

Austin Moyer earned a first place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, finish in 50.97.

The Brockport women earned a first place finish in the 200-yard medley relay.  Dee Logory, Haley Brucato, Rebekah Wilkinson and Jenna Gleason finished in 1:59.30.  Gleason also finished first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:04.63.  Brucato nabbed a first place finish in the 200-yard butterfly, touching in 2:33.08.

Logory, Gleason, and Holly Jackson swept the podium in the 200-yard backstroke.  Logory took first in 2:21.57, Gleason second in 2:24.62 and Jackson third in 2:25.69.

In the 100-yard breaststroke, Martha Ruether took first with a time of 1:14.50.

Mary Jane Leja took first in two events, winning the 1,000-yard freestyle in 12:01.87, and the 100-yard freestyle in 54.81.

In the 200-yard freestyle, Kaitlin Dunning finished in 2:04.79 for a first place finish, beating out the competition by over 16 seconds.

The Brockport divers swept both podiums in the one-meter dive for the second straight meet.  Meghann Kilgallon took first with 262.25, Loren Sayers took second with 195.50, and Brooke Leddon took third with 193.10.  On the men's side, Gabe Arias took first in the one-meter dive with 311.30, Matt Merchant took second with 262.20, and Chris Miller third with 211.05.

The Golden Eagles remain home next weekend as they host Oswego State in a SUNYAC matchup set for 1 pm.
