ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Jimmy Lovelass made the first start of his Golden Eagle career against the Tigers of RIT on the road today, settling in after a two run first inning to throw a scoreless second but Brockport was unable to muster much offensively dropping the nonconference game 11-0 at Tiger Stadium.
Brockport (16-14 Overall) dropped its second game to the Tigers this season after the lopsided defeat and now are in the midst of its worst streak of the season dropping six straight. Seve Kowalski, Nick Plant and Kyle Perez were all able to stymy the RIT offense with scoreless innings in relief for Brockport.
Plant struck out two batters while Kowalski utilized a double-play to get out of a leadoff single in the fifth inning. Perez meanwhile utilized his defense superbly as he worked around multiple singles in the eighth inning.
The Golden Eagles had multiple doubles on the game to put runners in scoring position, both of which came from Brockport seniors. Shortstop Greg Ruddy doubled in the third inning while Timothy Segrue made his season debut with a bang, a pinch hit double down the right field line during the ninth.
Brockport finished with six hits on the day as Wesley Burghardt, Mike Carson, Jack Wallwork and Luke Gilbert all finished the game with one base knock.
