ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The College at Brockport swimming and diving team split today as the women came out victories beating Monroe Community College (MCC) 149.5-66.5 and the men falling 137-81. The women's team moves to 1-2 on the 2017 season, where they men's team falls to 0-3.
The women's team started the day off winning the first event of the 400-yard medley relay in a time of 4:27.36 with the combined team of
Cassandra Jannsen,
Haley Brucato,
Martha Ruether, and
Rebekah Wilkinson.
Kaitlin Dunning has a strong showing in the 1000-yard free style finishing as the top time of 11:45.98.
Tyler Hyde tabbed second place in the same event finishing with a time of 11:18.99.
Brockport notched the top two times in 200-yard free style with Wilkinson placing first in a time of 2:11.98 and
Abby Tripp trickling in behind her at 2:19.56.
Brandon Amthor had a great day for the Golden Eagles placing first in the 50-yard freestyle (21.98), the 200-yard IM (2:04.85), and the 100-yard freestyle (47.67.)
All three Brockport divers took the top spots in the 1 meter dive with
Meghann Kilgallon placing first with a score of 235.50,
Kate Nau coming in second with a score of 218.05,
Brooke Leddon tabbing third by a score of 191.80.
The women divers kept rolling as they placed in the top three spots again with Kilgallon claiming first (257.85),
Loren Sayers notching second (234.00), and Nau finishing third (230.45).
Ruether finished in the top spot for the Green and Gold in the 100-yard freestyle by a time of 56.88
Logan Gregory cruised past the competition in the 500-yard free style beating the next finished by 13 seconds. Gregory finished first by a time of 5:20.12.
The Brockport swimming and Diving team will be back in action next week Nov.11th as they travel to Potsdam for their first State University of New York Athletic Conference match of the season, with the meet slated to start at 2 p.m.
