BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport men's and women's swimming and diving team fell short against Oneonta Saturday afternoon, with the men losing 165-120, and the women 167-127. The men's team drops to 0-6 in 2018, where the women fall to 2-4.
 
The men's team started hot nabbing a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. With the combined team of Logan Gregory, Rainer Grimme, Matthew O'Donnell, and Brandon Amthor they finished with a time of 1:40.71.
 
Amthor did not stop there as he also claimed the top spot in three other events, 200-yard freestyle (1:46.72), 100-yard freestyle (47.86), and the 200-yard IM (2:00.86).  
 
Gregory also went to work for the men's team taking three top finishes in the 100-yard backstroke (55.87), 100-yard fly (55.65), and the 200-yard backstroke (2:06.87).
 
Kaitlin Dunning took home two second place finishes in both the 500-yard free style (5:44.87) and 1000-yard style (11:41.57). She also notched a third-place spot in the 200-yard free style in a time of 2:06.93.
 
Jenna Gleason got into the action as she tabbed a first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.63), second in the 20-yard freestyle (25.81), and third in the 100-yard freestyle.
 
Martha Ruether for the Golden Eagles accounted for two first-place finishes on the afternoon. She took first in the 50-yard freestyle (25.25) and 100-yard freestyle (55.71).
 
Brockport women's diving swept the top three spots in both the one-meter and three-meter dive. Meghann Kilgallon took first in both diving events with finals score of 285.85 in the one-meter and 249.15 in the three-meter. Loren Sayers finished second in both events racking up the scores of 238.95 in the one-meter and 236.63 in the three-meter. Kate Nau tabbed third place in both dives as she scored 212.70 in the one-meter and 202.27 in the three-meter.
 
Haley Brucato took a second-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:53.67. She also claimed two fourth-place finishes in both the 100-yard fly (1.11.16) and 200-yard fly (2.37.69).
 
Reese Michaels took a second-place finish in the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:23.83, where Eddie Schulze placed third by a time of 2:24.80.
 
The day was concluded with two first place finishes by both the men's and women's 200-yard freestyle relay teams. On the men's side, Ryan O'Meara, O'Donnell, Grimme, and Brian Controneo finished with a final time of 1:33.58. With the team consisting of Ruether, Dee Logory, Abby Tripp, and Dunning, the women's team finished with the top time of 1:45.92.
 
The Brockport swimming and diving team take their talents on the road next Saturday Jan. 27th, where they will face off against State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) opponent Buffalo State, with the meet slated to start at 1 p.m.
