BUFFALO, N.Y. – The College at Brockport men's and women's swimming and diving team fell short against Buffalo State, with the men losing 154-113 and the women winning by a score of 161-85. The men's team falls to 0-7 on the season, where the women jump to 3-4.
The women's team went to work early taking first place in the 400-yard medley relay. The team consisting of
Jenna Gleason,
Martha Ruether,
Haley Brucato, and
Kaitlin Dunning finished with the top time of 4:21.70.
Brandon Amthor had a great day with three first place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.32), 50-yard freestyle (21.65), and in the 500-yard freestyle (5:02.67).
On the women's side,
Jenna Gleason nabbed herself a pair of first place finishes coming in the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.52) and 100-yard freestyle (57.95),
Kaitlin Dunning notched herself two first place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (2:05.80) and in the 500-yard freestyle.
Rebekah Wilkinson ended the meet with a first place and two second place finishes. She claimed the top spot in the 200-yard butterfly (2.34.16), with her two second place finishes coming in the 100-yard freestyle (59.95) and 100-yard butterfly (1:06.28).
Abby Tripp claimed first place in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.38 and in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.21.
Brockport women's diving swept the board again taking the top three spots in both the one-meter and three-meter dive.
Brooke Leddon took the top spot in the one meter dive with a final score of 213.30, with
Kate Nau claiming second (211.00), and
Loren Sayers coming in third 205.40. In the three-meter dive, Sayers claimed first with a score of 219.30, with Leddon taking second (204.35), and Nau tabbing third (194.20).
The Brockport swimming and diving team hit the pool again next week at home against Fredonia, Feb. 3rd for senior day, with the time set to start at 1 p.m.
