BUFFALO, NY – The College at Brockport men's ice hockey team defeated Buffalo State Friday evening, by a score of 5-1. With the win, the Golden Eagles move to (3-0) on the season and (1-0) in the SUNYAC, while the Bengals drop to (1-2) overall and (0-1) in conference.
The two teams skated to a scoreless first period, with the Bengals having the better of the scoring opportunities. Brockport's senior netminder 
Jake Moore had a solid showing in the first keeping the Bengals offense at bay.
The Golden Eagles dominated the second period, outshooting the Bengals 15-4. The Green and Gold opened the scoring with 3:45 remaining in the second period, when 
Danny Rock found an opening, netting his first of the year with the assist from 
Bryan Carville. Brockport added one more goal to end the period, Captain 
Connor Hutchins found the back with one minute left in the period, sending the Golden Eagles into the locker room ahead, 2-0.
The Bengals came out with a jump to start the third, scoring just two minutes into the frame to bring the game back within one. The Golden Eagles regained their two-goal lead on a powerplay opportunity 14 minutes later when Captain 
Hunter Laslo, beat the Bengals goalie for his first of the season with assists from 
Doc Gentzler and 
Casey Winn. Brockport added another goal a minute later, this time 
Ethan Solat solved the Buffalo State netminder, extending the lead to three goals.  The Golden Eagles sealed the deal at 18:08 of the third when Gentzler buried an empty-netter to cap the final score, 5-1.
The Green and Gold are back in action Saturday, Nov. 3 when they host SUNY Fredonia for a 7 p.m. matchup
