Less than two minutes later, the Saxons found the back of the net again on a fast break, tying up the score at two goals a piece. The Green and Gold would not stay tied for long. It began in the 54th minute when Ayub Jeylani netted his second goal of the night, assisted by Jason Hayes, opening the flood gates for the Golden Eagles. Four minutes later Jeff Hibbard found Connor Desantis for his first of the season, bringing the score to 5-2. Not long after that freshman, Matthew Stefaniw tucked in his first collegiate goal at 62:11 in the second half, but he wasn't done there. Ten minutes later, Stefaniw buried his second career goal on a pass from Zach Langelotti, who picked up his first collegiate point. " I am very pleased with how we responded and how the team played in the second half," said head coach Gary Lapietra "These early games are providing us with a lot of confidence and the boys are really beginning to get a good feel for one another."
